DHSE Scholarship: A Comprehensive Guide and Program

DHSE Scholarship – The Keralan government established the DHSE scholarship for BPL students, which is available to students whose parents fall into the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category.

Each recipient of the scholarship receives a set sum of INR 5,000 depending on their qualifications and other preferences.

The Kerala government’s DHSE launched the program in 2007 to provide financial assistance to deserving higher secondary board candidates from underprivileged backgrounds.  

DHSE Scholarship  Eligibility Criteria

To get the scholarship, a candidate needs to meet the requirements listed below:

  • The candidate must be enrolled in a government or assisted school’s upper secondary board.
  • Keralan students enrolled in upper secondary schools are eligible for the award.
  • The student’s parents or guardians must fall inside the BPL category.
  • A candidate must have received high marks in their SSLC or comparable exam to be considered for the award.
  • The student’s attendance percentage ought to be at least 70%.
  • Candidates who fall under the differently-abled group must have a medical certificate attesting to their minimum 40% disability.

An amount of INR 698 lakhs has been sanctioned for the scholarship program.

  • The Keralan government awards each school a certain number of scholarships each year.

DHSE Scholarship Application Process

Students do not need to apply for the scholarship on their own because the qualifying candidate selection and application process are handled by the principal of the individual school:

  • It is recommended that chosen pupils give their school’s principal any necessary paperwork.
  • The school’s principal will register each application on the form.
  • Choose the applicants by using the criteria, then fill out the form (3).
  • Upload the account information.

Renewal of Scholarship

The scholarship must be renewed per the following requirements:

  • Students who received scholarships in their first year are qualified to reapply in their second year. 
  • For their scholarships to be renewed, all students must achieve a minimum of 70% attendance.
  • They need at least two chances to receive a minimum grade of D+ or above on the yearly exam.
