Benefits of the Barack Obama Scholarship

Research indicates that students who receive coaching are more likely to succeed in college and experience a variety of advantages.

Every Obama Scholar has a First-Year Success coach assigned to them as part of our dedication to their success.

These exceptionally accomplished upper-division ASU students will serve as your coaches to ensure a seamless transfer to the university and a fruitful first year.

Your coach will be your personal contact, support system, and source of motivation for achievement. You two will meet once a month.

Note that your Obama scholarship will not be available for the summer semester, and the best time for an Obama Scholar to go abroad would be a junior year, so planning should start the sophomore year.

Through detailed planning, it is also possible to go into your sophomore or senior year.
