Overview of John Young Pursue Your Passion Scholarship
The Cochener family established this scholarship to honor the memory of John Young, who identified himself as a fighter pilot at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack.
Following the war, he attended MIT and earned a degree in aerospace engineering before joining the Von Braun team at Redstone Arsenal, which was building Saturn V rockets for the Apollo program. He always encouraged me to pursue my professional aspirations.
Eligibility Requirements
- The application is available to everyone.
- In up to 500 words, applicants should explain why they choose their field of interest, how they want to make a difference, and any personal motivations or goals that will assist them in pursuing their professional passion.
How to Apply
To apply, write a 500-word essay expressing why you’re interested in your chosen subject, how you want to make a difference, and your own goals and motivations for achieving your dreams.
The scholarship date is May 24, 2024, and the total amount to be claimed is $1,000.
