Blue and Gold Scholarship Review

The Blue and Gold Scholarship is based on self-reported information on the application for admission, and the university reserves the right to cancel or reduce this scholarship after verifying your sixth-semester academic information once official documents are submitted.

If you enroll and obtain the Blue and Gold Scholarship, you will be agreeing to the terms and conditions of the scholarship as described.

Renewal Criteria

  • Cumulative GPA 3.25 or greater
  • Complete 24 or more semester hours each academic year

Grade point average and hour completion are reviewed at the end of each spring semester to decide renewability. Students are informed via their Loper email if they do not meet the renewal criteria and lose their scholarship.

Conditions for Scholarship

  • Must start no later than a year following high school graduation. Should you wait until the second semester after graduating to enroll for the first time, you must tell the Office of Financial Aid in writing by August 1st. During the autumn semester, you are not permitted to enroll at another school.
  • Must enroll in 12 or more credits every semester at UNK full-time. The scholarship will be lost if you don’t enroll for a semester. On the final day of the first week of school, enrollment status will be reviewed (drop and add week). If you are not enrolled full-time at that point, the scholarship will be terminated and forfeited.
  • The Blue and Gold Scholarship might not be transferred to another institution (including any of the NU System universities).
  • Shall be applied to summer sessions, including those with enrollment that is less than full-time.
  • Once you attempt 120 credit hours or receive a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first, your eligibility will terminate.
  • After the first week of school, the scholarship amount will be determined by the student’s enrollment status. If a course is dropped during the institution’s refund term, the amount will be modified.
  • Until the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions receives proper documentation (a high school transcript and official test results), the award will not be applied to the account.
