Sanskrit Scholarship – For the year 2024–2025, the Central Sanskrit University in Delhi is accepting online applications for scholarships under the Sanskrit Promotion Scheme.

This pertains to students who regularly study Sanskrit/Pali/Prakrit in any accredited Sanskrit Pathashalas, Sanskrit Mahavidyalayas, or Sanskrit Vishwavidyalayas in the traditional stream or schools, colleges, or universities in the modern stream as a required or elective subject.

Students who wish to study Sanskrit are supported by the Central Sanskrit University Scholarships Scheme, which is provided by the Government of India through Central Sanskrit University. Its mission is to disseminate Sanskrit literature and language. Students who choose to study Sanskrit and achieve academic excellence are eligible for the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Depending on their course level and qualifying exam, applicants must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible for the Sanskrit Scholarship:

  • First-year Purva-Madhyama class 9: Earn 60% in the Class 8 annual exam.
  • First-year Purva-Madhyama class 10: Earn 60% in the Class 9 annual exam.
  • Grade 11/Prak-Shastri second year/Uttar Madhyama second year: 60% on the Class 10 board exam.
  • Pass the Class 11 annual exam with 60% of the possible points in the second year of Prak-Shastri/Uttar Madhyama classes.
  • B.A./B.A. (Hons)/Shastri first year: 60% on the 10+2 board exam.
  • B.A./B.A (Hons)/Shastri-second year: Earn a 60% passing score on the first year Shastri/B.A./B.A (Hons) test.
  • Third-year B.A./B.A. (Hons)/Shastri: Earn 60% on the second-year exam for Shastri/B.A./B.A. (Hons).
  • Acharya/M.A. first year: 70% passing grade for graduation; Acharya/M.A. second year: 60% passing grade for Acharya/M.A. first year; Vidyavaridhi/PhD: 60% passing grade for M.A. in Sanskrit.

  • Complete the application form with all the necessary information.
  • Provide scanned copies of all required paperwork.
  • After completing all the fields, click “Submit” to finish your application.
