Charpak Scholarships – The Charpak Lab Scholarship, Charpak Master’s Scholarship, and Charpak Exchange Scholarship are the three funding categories offered by the apex body, Charpak Scholarship, for both bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Charpak Scholarships

To strengthen educational links and foster closer connections between France and India, the French government established the Charpak Scholarships, a scholarship program supported by the French Embassy in India.

French physicist and Nobel laureate Georges Charpak, who was awarded the prestigious Nobel Prize in Physics in 1992, is the name of the Charpak Scholarships.

Types of Charpak Scholarships

Charpak Scholarships come in four varieties, which are listed below:

  • The France Excellence Charpak Bachelor Scholarship is a type of bachelor’s scholarship.
  • The France Excellence Charpak Master Scholarships are a type of master’s scholarship.
  • exchange programs referred to as the Spring Session (January–June) Charpak Exchange Scholarship
  • Research Internships: The Charpak Lab Scholarship for Excellence in France

Let’s take a quick look at each of these scholarships in the section that follows. 

Eligibility

The following scholarship eligibility requirements must be met by applicants who wish to pursue their master’s degree in France and apply for the Charpak Master’s Scholarship:

  • The applicant needs to reside in India and be an Indian citizen.
  • At the time of application, the applicant cannot be older than 30.
  • It would be great for the applicant to be enrolled in or have graduated from a reputable Indian university.
  • Applications for the Charpak Master’s Scholarship are also open to young professionals who have worked for a company for no more than three years at the time of the application.
  • Applications for the Charpak Master’s Scholarship for either the first or second year of study are not accepted by candidates who are currently enrolled in their first year of master’s program in France. 

Charpak Master’s Scholarship – Selection Process

Additionally, candidates hoping to win the Charpak Master’s Scholarship should be aware that the award is given out based on academic merit and the submission of a superb Statement of Purpose (SOP).

Applicants’ CGPA or percentage does not affect the outcome of the scholarship; candidates with French language proficiency would be given preference, though it is not required.

Candidates who are enrolled in an Indian university that has a relationship with their intended French university will undoubtedly be given preference.

Application Process

Applicants must also submit their applications through the official Charpak Scholarship website to be considered for the Charpak Master’s Scholarship. As part of the Charpak Master’s Scholarship application procedure, they would also need to send in some scanned papers in addition to the application.

Benefits of the Charpak Master’s Scholarship

Successful applicants for the Charpak Master’s Scholarship will receive a living stipend of 860 euros per month. Additionally, a tuition price waiver of up to €5,000 would be awarded to the candidates.

The chosen applicants would also receive help in locating reasonably priced dorms. A France student visa and a waiver of the Etudes en France tuition would also be available to the students.
