Overview of Hagan Scholarship Foundation

For students that are self-motivated and exceptional achievers, there is a national need-based merit prize called the Hagan prize.

The award offers students up to $6,000 per semester, or a maximum of $48,000 over eight straight semesters, to enable them to graduate from college debt-free. 324 colleges and universities presently host Hagan Scholars from 42 states.

The recipients have to be graduates of a public high school with less than 100 students in the graduating class or will graduate from a public high school in a county with fewer than 50,000 people living in it.

After graduating from high school, recipients are required to enroll in a four-year college or university within the first semester. Benefits of a scholarship include study abroad opportunities, Schwab accounts, and free workshops.

Workshops give participants a hands-on grasp of critical life skills that aren’t usually covered in the curriculum.
