Pragati Scholarship
Since its inception in the academic year 2014–15, the Pragati Scholarship program has assisted thousands of female students. It is an official scholarship program administered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
A total of 5,000 scholarships are awarded annually under this program to deserving female students who wish to pursue technical education. The recipients of the scholarships receive an award of INR 50,000 annually.
Pragati Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has established the following requirements for female candidates to be eligible for the Pragati Scholarship:
- For a technical diploma or degree program, the applicants must be enrolled in a college or institution that has been approved by the AICTE.
- The applicant must be admitted into either the first or second year of the current academic year (only through lateral entrance).
- The state or central government’s centralized admissions process is where admission should have been secured.
- A household may only submit one application for the award for two girls.
- The applicant’s family income for the preceding fiscal year could not have exceeded INR 8 lakh annually.
- The applicant’s parents’ or in-laws’ income will be taken into account if they are married, and the higher income will be taken into account.
Pragati Scholarship Application Process
AICTE permits applicants to complete the Pragati scholarship application form via the NSP Portal to facilitate the application process. To fill out the application, adhere to the instructions indicated below.
- Initially, the candidates must click the “New Registration” button to register on the NSP Portal.
- To finish the registration, carefully read the instructions and complete all the fields.
- Upon successful registration, the applicants will receive an application ID and password on their registered mobile number.
- To complete the Pragati application form, candidates must now log in to the NSP Portal with their application ID and password.
- It will be required of the applicants to reset their password.
- The applicants must then complete the scholarship application form.
- The application form must be submitted, and the candidates must provide scanned copies of the necessary paperwork.

Selection Process
The AICTE Pragati Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate merit in the qualifying exam for admission to a college or institution that offers technical courses and has been recognized by the AICTE.
Various types of students are allocated a specific percentage of seats during the Pragati Scholarship selection procedure.
In particular, candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC) are granted 15%, 7.5%, and 27% of the total seats.
