The American Indian College Fund provides dynamic higher education opportunities, most on or near reservation lands.

Known for their remarkable programs, culturally relevant curricula, and familial student care, tribal colleges allow students to further their careers, attain an advanced degree, or better support their communities.

Scholarships Offered

They include the following:

AAUW Women’s Fellowships and Grants

AAUW, one of the biggest global funding sources for women in graduate school, is giving $3.9 million to 250 deserving women and nonprofit organizations in the form of grants and fellowships.

ACS Scholars Program

Underrepresented minority students who wish to pursue careers in chemistry or professions related to it are eligible to apply for renewable scholarships from ACS.

Applicants must be American Indian seniors in high school or first-year college students, sophomores, or juniors majoring in chemical sciences or chemical technology. The deadline is March 1.

STEM Stars Actuarial Scholars Program

There is a diversity issue facing the actuarial profession. Studies reveal significant differences in minorities’ professional success.

According to estimates from the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and the Society of Actuaries (SOA), the percentage of Black members in the United States is only 1.5% and 2.7%, respectively.

Native American members comprise just 0.5% of the entire CAS membership in the United States, while Latinx members barely make up 1.9% and 1.8%.

One initiative aimed at promoting diversity in the actuarial field is the STEM Stars Actuarial Scholars Program.

AICPA Scholarship Award for Minority Accounting Students

Financial grants are given by this scholarship to full-time minority students who are majoring in accounting or seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting.

Candidates must be citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States and have a GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship

Helps seniors in high school who have finished an advanced placement computer science course enroll in a four-year institution that has been accredited.

After their freshman year, winners get $10,000 per year and a paid summer job at Amazon.

American Indian Society for Engineers and Scientists (AISES) Scholarships

With a variety of programs and funding options, AISES supports students as they advance in their academic careers.

With the support of AISES scholarships, students can develop the knowledge and abilities necessary to address the particular STEM needs of their communities.
