The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery helps Arkansas people pursue higher education. The Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship, which is partially funded, is accessible to students regardless of their academic standing, whether they have recently graduated from high school, are presently enrolled in college, are enrolling in college for the first time, or are returning to college after a length of time away.

Overview of Ar Scholarship Lottery

The Arkansas Lottery was approved in November 2008. Soon after its introduction, the Arkansas Lottery joined the two national lotteries, Mega Millions and Powerball.

Aside from national lotteries, the Arkansas Lottery offers many state games, such as Cash 3, Cash 4, Lucky for Life, Natural State Jackpot, and LOTTO.

The lottery’s proceeds are mostly used to fund state education grants. To date, millions of dollars have been donated to in-state college scholarships.

Furthermore, lottery players have won billions of dollars, while licensed lottery shops have made millions in commissions.

Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must:

  • Be an Arkansas resident (at least 12 months prior to enrollment, and a US citizen or lawful permanent resident.
  • Obtain admission to a recognized higher education institution for a program leading to a bachelor’s degree, associate degree, qualifying certificate, or nursing school diploma.
  • Have not previously acquired a baccalaureate degree.
  • Not previously acquired 120 or more semester credit hours.
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (income does not determine eligibility for this scholarship).
  • Do not owe a return on a federal or state student financial aid award for higher education.
  • Not borrowed in excess of the annual federal loan limit.
  • Not be incarcerated at the time of application applicant receives the scholarship.
  • I have complied with the United States Selective Service System’s demand for registration.
  • Certify as drug-free.
