Bully Scholarship Edition

Overview of Bully Scholarship Edition

2008 saw the release of Bully Scholarship Edition, an upgraded and visually improved version of Bully for Windows, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. The game addresses numerous flaws from the PS2 version in addition to adding various new features.

A whole new location is invaded by the Rockstar legacy of innovative, creative gameplay and amusing, tongue-in-cheek storytelling: the schoolyard.

You will overcome bullies, get teased by teachers, pull practical jokes, win or lose the girl, and eventually discover how to pass through the challenges of Bullworth Academy, the worst school in the area, as a mischievous schoolboy.

Jimmy Hopkins, a youngster who has been expelled from every school he has ever attended, is the protagonist of the novel.

Jimmy’s mother leaves him at Bullworth to travel on her fifth honeymoon, leaving him to fend for himself. If Jimmy can survive the school year and outsmart his rivals, he may rule the school.

Game Information

On March 4, 2008, the game was launched for Windows, the Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Wii video game consoles.

Better graphics and exclusive content not accessible in the PlayStation 2 edition are included in the game, including four new school classes, eight new missions, extra characters, and new apparel and unlocking goods.

Along with achievements for the Xbox 360 version and Wii Remote motion and pointer controls for the Wii version, single system 2-player competitive multiplayer minigames have also been introduced.

Additionally, Mad Doc Software’s new proprietary game engine is used in the Xbox 360 edition.

On July 19, 2007, Rockstar Games made the game’s initial announcement. RockstarWatch.net published a story about the Australian Bully’s release on August 7, 2007.

The box art for the Scholarship Edition featured illustrations of Jimmy Hopkins, the main character, and Dr. Crabblesnitch, the principal of the institution.

Rockstar released the launch trailer for the Scholarship Edition on the Bully homepage on February 3, 2008, along with an announcement that the game would be released on March 4, 2008.

The game was never transferred to the PlayStation 3, even though it came out more than a year after the console’s release.

Only in 2012—four years after the release of the Scholarship Edition and six years after the original game—was a straight port of the PS2 game made for the PlayStation 3 released.

Differences between Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Windows ports

The three-game ports differ somewhat in a few minor ways.

  • In the Xbox 360 and Windows editions, Edward’s glasses are gold, but in the PS2 and Wii versions, they are black.
  • Jimmy can’t locate any lawn gnomes on the Wii version until the task Small Offences is accessible. The gnomes show up right away in the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game.
  • The sounds of explosions and punches are entirely different in the PC and Xbox 360 versions.
