CFA Scholarship – The American-based CFA Institute offers financial and investment professionals a global professional credential known as the Chartered Financial Analyst Program (CFA).
The University of Lethbridge Dhillon School of Business is qualified to give up to five CFA Program Awareness Scholarships for students to take the CFA tests (Levels I, II, or III) in June of each year due to their involvement in the CFA University Recognition Program. Recipients of scholarships pay a reduced registration fee, curriculum fees, shipping charges, and any relevant import tariffs and taxes.
About the Scholarship
For those who cannot afford the test costs because of their exorbitant cost, the CFA Institute offers a scholarship that significantly lowers the fees. The Institute awards bursaries to:
- Access Scholarship: The application fee is USD 300 for people who may not be able to pay the program fees and still need to register for their next exam.
- Women’s Scholarship: The application fee is USD 400 for women who wish to become CFA charter holders, have not yet registered for their next exam, and are not eligible for any other CFA Institute scholarships.
- Scholarships for students: The application reduced fees are USD 400 for full-time college/university professors, administrators, or department heads who teach a minimum number of credit hours at eligible institutions and have not yet registered for their next exam.
4. Regulator Scholarship: Available to staff members of government agencies, eligible stock exchanges, securities commissions, central banks, and financial regulators.
Particularly, those organizations that have a program agreement in place with the CFA Institute and that supervise or control the standards of conduct, business practices, or standards of practice within the investment management sector.
The application fee is USD 400; if you are currently registered for an exam and/or are awaiting the publication of results, you are not eligible to apply.
Award
The scholarship lowers the exam registration fee (which includes access to the curriculum eBook) to US$350 and covers the one-time CFA Program enrollment charge, if applicable. Candidates for scholarships are in charge of covering any additional expenses incurred in choosing or acquiring the curriculum.
Eligibility
Graduate students or undergraduates in their last year of coursework may be eligible to receive these awards. A copy of their transcript is among the required documents that applicants for the scholarship must provide.
Students majoring in finance and those taking the exam for the first time will be given priority. It is highly recommended that you finish all prerequisite courses in finance before taking the CFA level 1 exam.
Award cycle
Scholarships are given out as soon as applications are processed and received (before the deadline).
The June scholarship recipients are limited to applying to the forthcoming June exam (Levels I, II, and III).
The December scholarship recipients are limited to applying to the December exam (Level I).
Important information
- All applications must now be completed, submitted, reviewed, and granted online on the CFA Institute website.
- There will be no more availability or acceptance of paper applications.
