Overview of Foot Locker Scholarship

The Foot Locker Scholarship for Scholar Athletes is a chance for learners to win money for college based on their leadership abilities and activities in their home communities.

The program honors student-athletes who show exceptional academic ability and strong leadership skills in sports, in their schools, and within their communities.

Whether you’re the best or the most spirited team player, we just want to hear how you have taken the skills you’ve cultivated in the locker room and used them to make a positive impact on the lives of others around you.

Eligibility Requirements

Here are the details for the Foot Locker Scholarship. Applicants must:

  • Be entering college in the Fall following high school graduation as a Fresher at an accredited four-year institution for an undergraduate degree;
  • Be involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community-based sports.
  • Hold a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (you will be asked to prove citizenship and age if you win)
  • Answer two essay questions
  • Not be an employee, officer, or director of Foot Locker, Inc., or any of its subsidiaries, or a member of the immediate household of such an employee, officer, or director.
  • Apply by December 1. (Normally closes in February).

Note that 19 students will be awarded $20,000, plus one student will be awarded $25,000 with the Ken C. Hicks Scholarship. A total of 20 students will part with the Foot Locker Scholarship!

Applications open in December 2024 and close at the end of January 2025.
