What is Joseph Mundassery Scholarship?

The Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala, established the Joseph Mundassery Scholarship, which offers pupils from economically disadvantaged minorities living in Kerala financial aid to finish their education

At the SSLC, 10+2, and Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) levels, the scholarship provides financial aid to deserving students from minority communities, including Christians, Buddhists, Jainites, Sikhs, Muslims, and Parsis. Scholarship recipients may receive financial assistance of up to INR 15,000 each year, depending on their educational background.

Joseph Mundassery Scholarship Eligibility

  • The Indian government should accredit the institutes where the candidates are enrolled.
  • Candidates must be residents of Kerala. Applications from other state students are not accepted for this scholarship.
  • Each of the nationalized banks should have a bank account in the candidates’ names.
  • A member of a minority group, such as the Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Sikh, Muslim, or Parsi groups, should be the nominee.
  • Students from families who fall below the federal poverty line (BPL) may also apply for the award.
  • The applicant’s family’s annual income from all sources must not exceed INR 8,00,000.

Application Process

The Joseph Mundassery Scholarship application process is only available online, and applicants must register on the official website to complete the application. The following are the stages to complete the application process:

  • Open the DMW scholarship portal on its official website.
  • Select the Prof. Joseph Mundassery Scholarship – (PJMS) link, and then hit the online application button.
  • After selecting the “Register” button, provide the necessary information, which includes your name, contact information, address, and bank account information.
  • As per the website’s registration requirements, create a login ID and password, and after carefully reading the terms and conditions, click “I accept.”
  • Include the candidate’s signature, a current passport-sized photo, and any other pertinent scanned papers.
  • Proceed to fill out the application and finish the registration procedure. 

Documents Required

To be eligible for the Prof. Joseph Mundassery Scholarship, candidates must submit the list of documents below:

  • Scanned copy of the Aadhar card
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • The income certificate of the applicant’s parent or guardian
  • Copy of community certificate or minority certificate
  • Copy of Nativity certificate
  • Copy of Ration card
  • BPL card (if applicable)
  • Disability certificate (if any)
  • Recent passport-size photograph
  • Printout of the Registration form with a photo attached
  • Copy of the first page of the bank passbook
  • Residential certificate Domicile certificate

Keep in mind that if a candidate does not adhere to the given eligibility criteria, their application will be rejected by the DCE.
