Naan Mudhalvan UPSC Scholarship – Tamilnadu’s government has introduced the Tamilnadu Nal Mudhalvan Scheme, which will help students in the state prepare for the civil service exam by providing financial aid.

Overview of Naan Mudhalvan UPSC Scholarship

The Tamilnadu government introduced the Nal Mudhalvan Scheme. Under this program, financial aid will be given to economically disadvantaged state students. Students will be able to study for the UPSC exam with this financial aid. 

Every student who meets the requirements will receive INR 7,500 for ten months. Before the deadline, students wishing to apply for this program must visit the official website and complete the application. The chosen students will receive financial aid through the DBT mechanism.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from any recognized university in India.

Freshers

  • The applicant must be above the age of 21 years.
  • The applicant must be below the age of 22 years.

Regulars

  • The applicant must be above the age of 21 years
  • 1. SC/ST/SC (A) candidate should not be above 37 Years of age.
  • 2. Differently Abled candidates from any community should not be above 42
  • Years.
  • 3. BC/BC (M) / MBC/DNC candidates should not be above 35 years old.
  • 4. General candidates should not be above 32 Years.

Number of Beneficiaries under Naan Mudhalvan 

A screening test will be used to shortlist 1,000 prospective civil servants each year under this scheme.  

Benefits of the Scholarship 

For ten months, each candidate would receive Rs. 7,500 each month to help them study for the preliminary exam. 

Selection Process

  • Fifty freshmen (a candidate who makes their first attempt and must be at least 21 years old and not have turned 22 on August 1, 2024) will be selected from a pool of 1000 candidates for the monthly scholarship program.
  • To shortlist 225 candidates for the full-time residential program, 100 candidates for the part-time training program of the All India Civil Services Coaching Center, R A Puram, Chennai, and 100 candidates for each of the full-time residential programs of the Anna Centenary Civil Services Coaching Academies, Coimbatore and Madurai, the scorecard of the “NAAN MUDHALVAN UPSC PRELIMS SCHOLARSHIP EXAM” will also be used. 
  • To be admitted to this training program, candidates must select the appropriate options inside the application itself. No request for a different training program location made by an individual candidate will be taken into consideration.
