Overview of North Star Promise Scholarship
The North Star Promise (NSP) Scholarship will cover the remaining tuition and fees after other scholarships, grants, stipends, and tuition waivers have been applied for, thereby providing eligible Minnesota residents with a pathway to higher education free of tuition and fees at eligible institutions.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to qualify for the North Star Promise program, people have to:
- Have a Minnesota address
- Establish a family AGI (adjusted gross income)
- Attend tribal college or a public higher education facility in Minnesota.
- Avoid being in arrears on any federal or state student loans
- Enroll in a minimum of one credit course.
- Fulfill requirements for satisfactory academic progress (SAP)
- Not previously obtained a bachelor’s degree
- Enroll in a course of study or program leading to certification
How to Apply
- To be qualified for the North State Promise Scholarship, you must apply for admission to Metro State University.
- Fill out the Minnesota Dream Act application or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
