Overview of PCAOB Scholarship

Since 2011, the PCAOB has offered a scholarship program to undergraduate and graduate accounting students studying in authorized US institutions and universities.

The Sarbanes-Oxley Act mandates the PCAOB Scholars Program, which is funded by monetary penalties incurred during enforcement actions.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who qualify to become PCAOB Scholars must:

  • Enroll in an undergraduate or graduate accounting program at a U.S. college or university listed as a nominating institution.
  • Start classes on or after August 1 for the applicable academic year.
  • Demonstrate interest and aptitude in accounting and auditing by having an overall GPA of 3.3 or better or being in the top 1/3 of their class.
  • Display high ethical standards.
  • At the time of nomination, you must not be a PCAOB employee or the child or spouse of a PCAOB employee.
  • Demonstrate financial necessity (defined as being eligible for a Pell Grant)

How to Apply

Follow the procedures below to apply for the scholarship:

  • Fill out the application on the following page and send a copy along with your résumé.
  • Log on to the PCAOB website and accept the terms of the award.
  • Visit https://aim.applyISTS.net/PCAOB.
  • To gain access to the application form, first create an account.
  • Click the ADD NEW APPLICATION button, then input the program key: PCAOB.
  • Examine all program criteria and information.
  • Fill out all mandatory fields.
