Texas FFA Scholarship: A Comprehensive Application Guide

Texas FFA Scholarship is given to meritorious members each year at the Texas FFA Convention through a competitive selection procedure. These scholarships are given out in accordance with the member’s performance in an interview as well as their academic and FFA accomplishments.

To guarantee that students can receive these scholarships indefinitely, the Texas FFA Foundation has established a scholarship endowment. They take great pride in giving worthy members academic scholarships of about $2.4 million annually.

More than 140 scholarships worth $20,000 will be given to deserving graduating seniors by the Texas FFA, thanks to the kind donations of many scholarship givers.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to be qualified for a Texas FFA College Scholarship, a candidate needs to be able to:

• Be on the state FFA roster, be in good standing with the Texas FFA Association, and be an active member for the current year and for at least two of the previous three years.
• Become an American citizen. A high school records official (principal, counselor, registrar, etc.) or the agricultural science instructor must see proof of naturalization if the applicant’s transcript indicates a place of birth outside of the United States. The official will verify the information and include it in the application.
• In the autumn semester of the application year, declare your intention to attend a college or university in Texas.
• be a senior who is graduating this year.
• have finished studying agriculture, food, and natural resources for at least three (3) academic calendar years and five (5) distinct semesters by the time they graduate.
• In the ninth through the twelfth grades. course credits obtained by examination credit
  Not be applied toward fulfilling the requirements of the five (5) distinct semesters of study. A semester of instruction will be counted for all AFNr courses taken in that semester. Earn a minimum of 1000 points on the SAT or 19 points on the ACT.
• For the first three and a half (3.5) years of high school, the student must, based on scholastic rank, be in the upper half of his or her class to be eligible for all scholarships, with the exception of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Wallrath Educational Foundation, and Rodeo Austin, which require the student to be in the upper fourth.
• Attend all scholarship interviews (district, area, and state) in appropriate formal (texas standards) attire.
