In collaboration with Canara Bank, the UGC created the Scholarship and Fellowship Management Portal (SFMP) to facilitate the distribution of scholarship and fellowship funds.

Payments to awards are automatically created on the authorized online portal, scholarship.canarabank.in, for all recipients linked by university, institution, or college, per the monthly confirmation of candidates by the appropriate university, institution, or college.

New features have been added to the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) redesigned interface, including:

In the past, there were several problems and delays with the scholarship and fellowship amounts for the candidates because of the outdated and delayed payment mechanism, as well as other issues with the SFMP portal. 

To guarantee that the scholarship money is paid to the students promptly, the UGC decided to incorporate a bank portal within the SFMP. The following is a list of the latest SFMS portal modifications that the UGC has implemented:

  • All institutes are required to select the appropriate nodal officers who oversee the SFMP and bring them to the portal usage training.
  • The chairperson of the panel has indicated that the URL for the virtual meet would be made public shortly.

  • The candidate needs to go to scholarship.canarabank.in, the official website. The next step for the applicant is to register by visiting the website’s registration tab.
  • The applicant must update the necessary information after they are taken to the registration page to properly register on the portal.
